Regular Monthly Meeting Minutes

Thursday December 8, 2022

 

Meeting was called to order at 7:03 pm at inVenture North in Marinette by club president Steve Mellenthin, K9STT.

Motion to approve the November meeting minutes was made by Mike Lemke, KD8FUE and seconded by Larry Buchholz, N9OSF. The motion was accepted and carried.

Treasures Report: KD8FUE reported a balance at the end of November of $6,586.21.

Correspondence: KD8FUE received a $270.00 invoice for the 147.000 repeater tower rental.

Committee Reports

Property Report: None

ARES Report: KD8FUE reported he was notified the grant for a new generator for the communications trailer has been approved. Pinecrest is ready to set a date for us to check out the roof for locating an antenna. Menominee County is looking at alternate locations for the EOC. Two new members have been added to the roster.

Fundraiser Report: Nothing to report.

DAR report: The DAR radio room is currently shut down. There might be an opportunity to open up the radio room in January by sharing the room with another program.

Yacht Report: Ed Engleman, KG8CX reported about 71 new members have joined this year. The group is doing well.

Webmaster Report: K9STT reported he had done a lot of updates to the website in the past week.

ARRL Report: K9STT reported we are current with ARRL. He is planning on filing an update with them this month.

New Business

After Christmas Dinner: The Club’s after Christmas dinner will be held Saturday January 14th at the Whistle Stop north of Menominee. We will gather at 5 pm and eat at 6 pm. The meal will consist of a salad bar and family style chicken and meat balls. The cost is $16/person. There will again be a white elephant gift exchange following the dinner.

InVenture North Gift: Members discussed making a donation to inVenture North again next year for allowing us to host our club activities at their location. Motion to give a gift of $200 to inVenture North was made by Paul Sorensen, NS8V and seconded by Doug Dooley, KD8OVR. The motion was accepted and carried.

Club Dues Increase: Members discussed fixed club costs and dues. Motion was made by KD8OVR to table the topic until summer and seconded by NS8V. The motion was accepted and carried.

Nominations Committee Report: Shannon Lefebvre, KD9RYZ and K9STT reported they have nominations to fill all of club the positions except for the President. Nominations will be taken from the floor at the January meeting.

Old Business

444.075 Amplifier: K9STT reported there was no new information at this time.

Communications Trailer Mast: The mast has been delivered and is currently being stored in the garage at the radio station.

Property Audit: Audit is due next month.

Announcements

K9STT announced he was redoing his will and the club would be a beneficiary.

K9STT reported the 444.075 repeater is completely down and the FTM-100 radio is at Yaesu for repairs.

Motion to adjourn the meeting was made by NS8V and seconded by KD8FUE. The motion was accepted and carried. Meeting ended at 7:38 pm
