Regular Monthly Meeting Minutes

Thursday April 9, 2026

 

Meeting was called to order at 7:03 pm at inVenture North in Marinette by club President Jim Callow, K8IR.

Motion to approve the February meeting minutes was made by Mike Lemke, KD8FUE and seconded by Paul Sorensen, NS8V. The motion was accepted and carried.

Treasures Report: NS8V reported the recent income and expenditures. The ending balance for the month of March was $4,654.06 + the 12-month CD. Motion to accept the treasures report was made by Doug Dooley, KD8OVR and seconded by Paul Cavallaro NJ9V. The motion was accepted and carried.

Correspondence: Wisconsin Public Service will be doing some gas line maintenance that will affect the inVenture North building.  There may be a time that gas service and access to the building may be impacted.

The Green Bay Ham Fest will be held Saturday, May 30th from 8am to noon at Our Saviour Lutheran Church, 120 South Henry Street in Green Bay.

Committee Reports

ARES Report: KD8OVR reported the spring simulated emergency test is coming up.  They will be focusing on the Winlink mapping feature.

Web/ARRL: Steve Mellenthin, K9STT reported the website is current and will be making a contact with the ARRL soon.

Fundraiser: K9STT presented the Proven Winners Direct plant sale fundraiser. Motion to go forward with the plant sale fundraiser was made by NS8V and seconded by Mike Sobeck, KD9IGW. The motion was accepted and carried.

Old Business

Ham Radio Classes: KD8OVR reported three of the four students from the class are now licensed Hams.

New Business

Club Picnic: K8IR will check on the Henes Park pavilion availably for August 9th.

Field Day: Field day will be June 27th and 28th this year.  KD8FUE will check with the Jones family to see if they will allow us to host the event on their property in Menominee again this year. Porta potty will need to be ordered ahead of time. The club will be looking at a pneumatic launcher for putting up wire antennas.

Announcements: The 2nd Annual Multi Club Picnic will be held Saturday May 9th, at Bay Shore Park in New Franken

Motion to adjourn the meeting was made by K9STT and seconded NS8V. The motion was accepted and carried. Meeting ended at 7:43 pm.
