What a great guy! He was always there when you needed help for the DAR, the Club, or just for a friend. He helped tirelessly when repairing our EmCom Trailer, and allowed us to keep it on his property while working on it. Great sense of humor, and always fast with a funny comment or story.  He was a great guy to just hang out with!

Our most sincere condolences to Kathy & the kids and grandkids for their loss!

There are no services planned at this time as Cal wished, but there will be a celebration of life event planned at a later date.

 

 

 

SANTA NET IS BACK!

The Holidays are here, and Santa is firing up his ham radio! Santa Net is back on 3.916 MHz for the 19th year! Starting Friday, November 29th, good girls and boys can talk to Santa Claus, via amateur radio, nightly starting at 7:00 PM (Central). The Santa Net will run every night through Christmas Eve, December 24, 2024.

 

 

 

Jeremy passed on October 21 due to cancer at 28 years old. He has been a fixture at our club field day events for a good number of years, helping to make thousands of radio contacts all around the world working the night shift. We will miss him greatly!

Our most sincere condolences to his parents, Alan and Edna Pickl and the rest of his family.

 

 

2024 ARRL Field Day June 22-23

  

 
A lot of work went into building our communications trailer - This years (2024) Field Day we rolled it out with a new pneumatic 40' Antenna mast among other test gear. Fair turn out was reported in light of so rainy weather - but a great time was had by everyone!  Thanks to K8IR, for providing me at least 1 pic of Field Day 2024 to 'borrow' !

AFTER CHRISTMAS DINNER 

Jan. 20, 2024 

 

Our annual "After" Christmas Dinner was a fun evening of friendship and comradery! About 18 hungry hams got together for some great food at the Whistle Stop, just north of Menominee. It was a pleasure seeing Eric (KG9GH) and Cheryl (KB9NTN) who were attending a wedding party next door at the Pullman House. The White Elephant gift exchange was fun and entertaining as always!

 

 

Best of all, our Christmas get-together is the gateway to longer days as I noticed there was still sun out as we drove north on highway 41 at 4:45.  The promise of more get togethers, and better weather lies ahead!

Meetings are at inVenture North located at 1320 Main St, Marinette, WI on the 2nd Thursday of the month at 7 PM.

All are welcome to attend, especially if you are interested in becoming licensed!
