Regular Monthly Meeting Minutes

Thursday July 10, 2025

 

Meeting was called to order at 7:01 pm at inVenture North in Marinette by club President Jim Callow, K8IR.

Motion to approve the June meeting minutes was made by Mike Lemke, KD8FUE and seconded by Paul Sorensen, NS8V. The motion was accepted and carried.

Treasures Report: NS8V reported no transactions were made during the month of June. The ending balance for the month was $7,197.10. Motion to accept the treasures report was made by Robert Juhlin, W8AWF and seconded by Allen Pawlowski, KB7KZ. The motion was accepted and carried.

Correspondence: Connie Judd, KE9ALV is organizing a lunch with Arde Nelson, KA9WAR.  The lunch will be held at 1:00 pm on September 6th at the Peshtigo Corral.

Committee Reports

ARES Report: W8AWF reported the trailer was moved to the ISD building after field day.  There was discussion on placement of the trailer at that location.

Fundraiser: No update.

Yacht Report: KG8CX reported they have a 10 year old from North Carolina that is a prospective new member. He will be taking his test soon.

ARRL/Webmaster Report: No report.

Old Business

Field Day: The event went well, 675+ contacts were made.

Bicycle Tour: There will be a meeting held July 11th to determine if the ride will be postponed until 2026 due to low enrollment.

Escanaba Link: No update.

Summer Picnic: The annual summer picnic will be held at noon on August 3rd at the first pavilion in Hennes Park.  The club will be providing burger, brats, water and soda, members attending should bring a dish to pass.  A fox hunt class and antenna building class will be held at 10 am for those interested, with a fox hut taking place during the picnic.  There will also be a raffle and a prize for the fox hunt winner.

Dry Erase Board:  No update.

UHF Amp: No update.

Menominee County Radio System: No update.

WIRES-X Link Radio: A motion was made by KD8FUE to purchase a used Yaesu FTM-100DR from KB7KZ for $100 to replace the Yaesu FTM-400XDR. The motion was seconded by W8AWF.  The motion was accepted and carried. This will free up the FTM-400 to be used in the communications trailer.

New Business

Canopy Loss at Field Day: A canopy owned by K8IR was damaged at field day.  Motion to reimburse K8IR $89 for a replacement canopy was made by KD8FUE and seconded by W8AWF.  The motion was accepted and carried.

Motion to adjourn the meeting was made by NS8V and seconded Mike Sobeck, KD9IGW. The motion was accepted and carried. Meeting ended at 7:46 pm.
