Regular Monthly Meeting Minutes
Thursday September 11, 2025
Meeting was called to order at 7:00 pm at inVenture North in Marinette by club President Jim Callow, K8IR.
A moment of silence was observed for silent key Eric Janssen, KG9GH
Motion to approve the July meeting minutes was made by Mike Lemke, KD8FUE and seconded by Robert Juhlin, W8AWF. The motion was accepted and carried.
Treasures Report: KD8FUE reported the recent income and expenditures. The ending balance for the month of August was $6,819.83. Motion to accept the treasures report was made by Allen Pawlowski, KB7KZ and seconded by Doug Dooley, KD8OVR. The motion was accepted and carried.
Correspondence: Pete Johnson, AB9PJ asked permission to use the club’s 147.000 repeater for a fundraiser walk in Door County held September 26-28. K8IR approved his request.
Committee Reports
ARES Report: W8AWF reported the fall SET will be held on October 4th and he would like to hold it at the ISD building. KD8FUE reported the Icom 7300 HF radio from the DAR is set up and ready to be used in the trailer/EOC and the Yaesu FTM-400 will need to be programmed and the other radios can be sold.
Fundraiser: No update.
Yacht Report: Ed Engleman, KG8CX reported they have gained 40 new members so far in 2025. Their youngest member is 7 years old.
ARRL/Webmaster Report: No report.
Old Business
Picnic: The event went well, four antennas were built and a fox hunt was held.
Escanaba Link: No update.
Menominee County Radio System: No update.
WIRES-X Link Radio: The Yaesu link radio purchased from KB7KZ has been installed.
New Business
ICOM 7300 Radio Accessories: The power cable and mic for the 7300 could not be located. Tim Mellinthin, WN6KHG has a cable and desk mic he is willing to sell for $80. Motion to purchase the desk mic and power cable from WN6KHG for $80 was made by KD8OVR and seconded by W8AWF. The motion was accepted and carried.
Gift for the Jones Family: A Motion was made by KB7KZ and seconded by KD8OVR to purchase a $100 gift certificated for the Jones Family for allowing us to hold field day at their property. The motion was accepted and carried.
A donation in lieu of flowers will be made to the DAR in Memory of KG9GH.
Motion to adjourn the meeting was made by Tom Doering, KF5WFP and seconded KD8FUE. The motion was accepted and carried. Meeting ended at 7:32 pm.
