Regular Monthly Meeting Minutes
Thursday May 8, 2025
Meeting was called to order at 7:00 pm at inVenture North in Marinette by club Treasurer Paul Sorensen, NS8V.
Motion to approve the April meeting minutes was made by Mike Lemke, KD8FUE and seconded by Mike Sobeck, KD9IGW. The motion was accepted and carried.
Treasures Report: NS8V reported the income and expenditures for the past month. The ending balance for the month of April was $7,197.10. Motion to accept the treasures report was made by KD8FUE and seconded by Doug Dooley KD8OVR. The motion was accepted and carried.

Committee Reports
ARES Report: The Michigan spring SET was held this past Saturday. GroupMe was used as a new activation notification tool. The new VHF yagi was used to make contacts outside of Menominee County. The results were submitted using Winlink.
Fundraiser: Nothing to report.
Yacht Report: Ed Engleman, KG8CX reported the group has added 23 new members this year. The newest member is a 12 year old from New Hampshire. A 10 year old member in the Niagara Falls area was interviewed about HAM radio by a local TV station.
ARRL/Webmaster Report: No report.
Old Business
Field Day: KD8FUE received permission from the Jones family to use their field again this year. A committee is needed to plan the event. Field Day will be June 28th and 29th this year.
Bicycle Tour: Representatives from the WiMi Wish Ride provided an update on the planning status for the ride. The final route has not been set. They will be looking for radio operators to be present at each of the rest stops along the route. The August 9th Marinette to Kingsford route will have rest stops at Porterfield, Crivitz, Wausaukee, Amberg, Dunbar and Aurora. The August 10th Kingsford to Marinette route will have rest stops at Niagara, Pembine, Lake Township Hall, River Park, Chappee Rapids. NS8V will attend the Friday planning meetings on Zoom.

Summer Picnic: No update.
Dry Erase Board: No update.
UHF Amp: No update.
New Business
Menominee County Radio System: County is working on putting together the list of surplus radio equipment that will become available.
Menominee County EOC: Tom Philipps reported they ISD officially gave the County a dedicated room at the ISD building on 41st Ave. The room will have its own access to the exterior of the building that will be available 24/7. There will be a dedicated area for the ARES radio equipment and Tom will be looking for input from the ARES group to determine what is needed for space.
SKYWARN Activations: Members present discussed the recent SKYWARN and net control needs.
Motion to adjourn the meeting was made by John Goldschmidt, N9GLT and seconded KD9IGW. The motion was accepted and carried. Meeting ended at 7:40 pm.
