Marinette & Menominee Amateur Radio Club
Regular Monthly Meeting Minutes
Thursday March 9, 2023
Meeting was called to order at 7:00 pm at inVenture North in Marinette by club president Jim Callow, K8IR.
Motion to approve the February meeting minutes was made by Mike Lemke, KD8FUE and seconded by Robert Juhlin, W8AWF. The motion was accepted and carried.
Correspondence: Green Bay Mike & Key Club will be holding a Hamfest from 8:00 AM 'til Noon on Saturday June 3, at Our Saviour Lutheran Church, 120 South Henry Street in Green Bay.
The Amazon Smile program ended February 20, 2023.
Treasures Report: KD8FUE reported a balance at the end of February of $6,828.62.
Committee Reports
ARES Report: KD8FUE reported he will be contacting all ARES members to collect information for the new ID cards. Tom Philipps reported the generator for the communications trailer has arrived and he is waiting on the propane tanks. Menominee County is getting closer to having a dedicated EOC at the ISD building.
Fundraiser Report: Nothing to report.
Yacht Report: Ed Engleman, KG8CX reported a couple of their young members will be giving a presentation at Carole Perry’s Youth Forum at Dayton Hamvention.
Webmaster Report: No report
A ham breakfast will be held at 9 am Saturday, March 11th at Applejack’s in Marinette.
Old Business
UHF Amp: No update
Financial Review: The financial review for year 2022 was completed by the Financial Committee and no significant errors, improprieties, or other actionable deficiencies were found.
Property Audit: W8AWF volunteered to take over the Property Clerk position. A property audit will be scheduled after Robert collects the required information.
Announcements
Tom Philipps mentioned the County has declared the backup radio equipment as surplus and the club would need to pick it up if they want it. There may be an opportunity to obtain more equipment as Menominee County decommissions their conventional radio system.
KD8OVR presented a video on RF exposure calculations.
Motion to adjourn the meeting was made by W8AWF and seconded by Paul Sorensen, NS8V. The motion was accepted and carried. Meeting ended at 8:04 pm
