Marinette & Menominee Amateur Radio Club
Regular Monthly Meeting Minutes
Thursday October 12, 2023
Meeting was called to order at 7:03 pm at inVenture North in Marinette by club president Jim Callow, K8IR.
Motion to approve the September meeting minutes was made by Paul Sorensen, NS8V and seconded by Tim Mellenthin, WN6KHG. The motion was accepted and carried.
Treasures Report: Mike Lemke, KD8FUE reported a balance at the end of September of $7,241.11. Motion to approve the treasurers report was made by Steve Mellenthin, K9STT and seconded by NS8V. The motion was accepted and carried.
Correspondence: UP repeater directories are available and KD8FUE placed an order, six area available for the cost of $10 each if anyone is interested.
Pete Johnson, AB9PJ has moved the 444.500 repeater to the Rangeline Road tower and changed the frequency to 444.875 with a PL of 141.3. This repeater is linked to the Suring 145.470 repeater.
Committee Reports
ARES Report: KD8FUE reported on Saturday, October 14 Michigan ARES will be holding a SET.
Fundraiser Report: Done until next year
Yacht Report: Ed Engleman, KG8CX reported year to date they have added 38 new youth members and 4 or 5 new adult members. Most young hams come from families with other hams.
ARRL/Webmaster Report: K9STT reported we are current with ARRL and he has been updating the website.
75 Meter Net: Dan Nyman, W9DLN will conduct an informal 75 meter net Sundays at 1 pm local time on 3907.
Election Committee: K9STT and Robert Juhlin, W8AWF have volunteered to serve on the election committee.
Old Business
UHF Amp: No update
Communications Trailer: The trailer is at Plutchak Fabrication having the mast mount installed.
DAR: KD8FUE set the date of Saturday, November 4th to remove the ham radio equipment from the DAR. Contact Mike if you are available to help.
Announcements
Maxine Dreese wife of Paul Dreese, WC9E has passed away. Visitation will be held at Holy Family Parish – Our Lady of Lourdes Taylor St on Saturday, October 14th from 9 – 11 am
Motion to adjourn the meeting was made by K9STT and seconded by W9DLN. The motion was accepted and carried. Meeting ended at 7:38 pm.
13 members present: N9GLT, W9DLN, KD8FUE, KD8OVR, KG8CX, N0AWM, KD9IGW, W8AWF, NS8V, WN6KHG, KD9STT, K8IR and KF5WFP. Tom Philipps, Menominee County EM was also present.
