Regular Monthly Meeting Minutes

Thursday June 9, 2022

 

Meeting was called to order at 7:00 pm at inVenture North in Marinette by club president Steve Mellenthin, K9STT.

Motion to approve the May meeting minutes was made by Bruce Conover, N9CON and seconded by A.J. Pawlowski, KB7KZ. The motion was accepted and carried.

Treasures Report: K9STT reported a balance at the end of May of $5,128.55.

Correspondence: A Porterfield HAM had radio equipment for sale but it had been sold by the time of the meeting.

Committee Reports

Repeater Report: No report.

Education and Training: Nothing to report.

Property Report: Nothing to report.

ARES Report: Doug Dooley, KD8OVR reported a Winlink exercise was held and he was able to make contact using Winlink.

Trailer Report: No report

Fundraiser Report: Volunteers will be needed for the July 9th Logging & Heritage Fest fundraiser. You can sign up help using the form on the website.

DAR report: K9STT reported they are currently on summer break and will start up again next week.

Yacht Report: Ed Engleman, KG8CX reported they are continuing to gain members.

Webmaster Report: K9STT reported he has been working on the website daily and it is up to date.

ARRL Report: Current with ARRL.

HATT: No report

New Business

Field Day will be held at the usual location in Menominee June 25 and 26. Volunteers will be needed for food and set up.

Breakfast on the farm will be held Sunday, June 26. Contact K9STT or AB9PJ if you are interested in helping with that event.

Old Business

Repeater expansion: Nothing new to report at this time. K9STT hopes to have more information by the next meeting.

Logging & Heritage Festival fundraiser: Volunteers needed – sign up on the website.

Club Picnic: K9STT proposed holding a 100th birthday party for Arde Nelson at the Club’s picnic in August. A motion to hold the birthday party during the annual club picnic was made by KB7KZ and seconded by KG8CX. The motion was accepted and carried.

ARES Antennas at EOC: ARES members have not been over to the EOC to survey the location for possible new antenna locations yet.

Bylaw changes: Motion to change section 5.4 of the Bylaws as published was made by KB7KZ and seconded by NS8V. The motion was accepted and carried.

Announcements

KB7KZ announced the 13 Colonies Special Event begging July 1st. Submit your log to KB7KZ for a chance to win a prize for the most contacts. K9STT reminded KB7KZ and the members that this was not a club sponsored event and it would not be consuming a lot of our time at the meeting or other club functions. KB7KZ left the room stating he was done with this club.

Field day is June 25 and 26 this year.

Breakfast on the Farm is June 26.

There is a run/walk July 9 before the Logging & Heritage Festival.

Logging & Heritage Festival fundraiser is July 9.

Motion to adjourn the meeting was made by N9CON and seconded by NS8V. The motion was accepted and carried. Meeting ended at 7:32 pm.
