Regular Monthly Meeting Minutes

Thursday January 12, 2023

 

Meeting was called to order at 7:04 pm at inVenture North in Marinette by club president Steve Mellenthin, K9STT.

Motion to approve the December meeting minutes was made by Robert Juhlin, W8AWF and seconded by Paul Sorensen, NS8V. The motion was accepted and carried.

Treasures Report: Mike Lemke, KD8FUE reported a balance at the end of November of $6,228.48.

Committee Reports

Property Report: None

ARES Report: KD8FUE reported they have received a grant to purchase a new generator for the communications trailer. Any help would be appreciated when work begins on the trailer this year. W8AWF and NS8V are new ARES members. Tom Philipps reported that the generator is on order and should be arriving soon. He has a new machine to produce ID cards for ARES members. He will also be scheduling a SkyWarn training class for some time this spring.

Fundraiser Report: Nothing to report.

DAR report: The DAR radio room looks like it will be opening up. The room will be shared with a local engineer who will be teaching robotics.

Yacht Report: Ed Engleman, KG8CX reported the group is doing well.

Webmaster Report: K9STT reported the website has been getting a lot of hits.

ARRL Report: K9STT reported we are current with ARRL.

New Business

Nominations for club officers were taken from the floor. Jim Callow, K8IR was nominated for president by Dan Nyman, W9DLN. No other nominations were made.

Elections were held and the following officers were elected:

President – Jim Callow, K8IR

Vice President – Dan Nyman, W9DLN

Secretary – John Goldschmidt, N9GLT

Treasurer – Mike Lemke, KD8FUE

At Large 1 – Shannon Lefebvre, KD9RYZ

At Large 2 – Paul Sorensen, NS8V

At Large 3 – Doug Dooley, KD8OVR

 

Old Business

444.075 Amplifier: K9STT reported he is waiting for information from Jim Swanson. The 444.075 repeater is currently off the air, N9GLT will go to the Harbors and try resetting the repeater.

Communications Trailer Mast: Currently being stored in the garage at the radio station. K9STT will scan the manual and get it posted on the website.

Property Audit: Needs to be scheduled

Announcements

The after Christmas dinner will be held this Saturday at the Whistle Stop.

KD8OVR Asked that anyone interested in helping with the Technician class to contact him. He is planning to hold the classes on a Tuesday or Wednesday evening from 6 pm to 9 pm for four weeks.

Motion to adjourn the meeting was made by NS8V and seconded by KD8FUE. The motion was accepted and carried. Meeting ended at 7:38 pm
